At the Boone and Crockett Club’s recent annual meeting, James F. (Jim) Arnold was elected as president and began a two-year term that will end in December 2022. Arnold is the president and chief executive officer for Arnold Oil Company of Austin. He has been a regular member of the Club since 2004 serving on six committees.

Thanks to the actions of conservation-minded landowners, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation helped permanently protect 970 acres of important elk habitat in southcentral New Mexico.

The Great Outdoors Fund and Colorado Parks & Wildlife have joined forces with the Upper San Juan Watershed Partnership to improve access to the San Juan River and build a new, much-needed take-out ramp near Pagosa Springs, CO.

The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation recently surpassed more than eight million acres of lifetime conservation work over its 36-year history.

Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever has announced the retirement of Rick Young, longtime Vice President of Field Operations, at the end of the calendar year. A mainstay of the organization since 1987, Young’s 34-year career highlights include building the foundation of Pheasants Forever chapters east of the Mississippi River, creation of the organization’s Farm Bill Biologist Partnership, and the birth of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s national seed program.
