Buck Knives Introduces 640XL to Honor Employees

Post Falls, ID -- Buck Knives recently released the 640 XL, a knife that recognizes six employees with 40 or more years of service to the company.

In the 1970’s these young men started working on the production line developing product for Buck Knives.  Some 30 years later, these same six men followed the company when it relocated to its current location in Post Falls, Idaho.

“We were approached by the executive team and asked if we would develop a knife to recognize our hard work and dedication to the company,” said Billy Bates, Foundational & Special Accounts Sales Manager for Buck Knives.  “We are all deeply honored to have had the opportunity to work with Buck Knives for so many years.  With many of us retiring next year, the 640 XL represents an evolution.  The materials we chose were significant to the time era in the 70’s but we added some modern twists.”

Development of this unique, legacy knife was based off the 124 Frontiersman, a knife they all owned and worked on 40 years ago.  Created with one of the first steels ever used by Buck Knives, 440C, the knife also contains custom filework added to the spine.  The handcrafted Elk handle was chosen as a timeless material and accentuated with nickel silver and buffalo spacers.

Representing the total number of years with the company these six men hold collectively, the XL is serialized with a total quantity of 259.  Buck Knives would like to recognize the following employees for their hard work and dedication through the years: Ron Dupree, Sr. Double Disc Operator; Rick Rehberger, Sr. Hollow Grind Operator; John Renzi, Director of Import Development; Billy Bates, Foundational & Special Accounts Sales Manager; Dan Peretti, Warranty Repair Technician; and Steve Raley, Sr. Manufacturing Engineer.
