Erica Yost Promoted to Regional Representative in “The Pheasant Capital”

Bowdle, S.D.  – Pheasants Forever is excited to announce the promotion of Erica Yost as the organization’s new South Dakota Regional Representative. In her new role, Yost will provide support and guidance for volunteers in “The Pheasant Capital,” home to 34 Pheasants Forever chapters and more than 7,000 dedicated members.

“At a time when members, chapters, and partnerships continue to expand in South Dakota, I am pleased to promote Erica Yost to our very talented team,” stated Tom Fuller, north region director for Pheasants Forever. “In her time with the organization, Erica has quickly gained the respect of her colleagues, chapters, landowners and partners through her work ethic and commitment to our mission. I look forward to her contributions in South Dakota and have no doubt that she will help create landscape-level impacts for the state’s wildlife and upland hunting traditions.”

Yost was born and raised in Iowa’s Loess Hills Region where she gained a respect and appreciation for the outdoors at an early age, dedicating family time to hunting and fishing. After completing her college education and earning a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Wayne State College in 2013, Yost was hired for numerous county and state natural resource management positions before accepting a job with Pheasants Forever as a Farm Bill Biologist in southeast Iowa. Yost has been an essential team member of Pheasants Forever in Iowa for the past five years where she earned the title of Farm Bill Biologist III through her work in a three-county area, assisting landowners with conservation needs on private lands. Additionally, she has been one of the most influential volunteer leaders in the state as part of the Aldo Leopold Chapter of Pheasants Forever in the state’s southeast region.

“Our chapter leaders dedicate an immense amount of time to their local endeavors because of their passion for our organization and our mission,” said Erica Yost, Pheasants Forever’s new regional representative in South Dakota. “I’m incredibly honored to work alongside and serve these chapters to deliver habitat and conservation in the pheasant capital of the world, South Dakota!”

An avid hunter, outdoor enthusiast, youth advocate and conservationist, Yost has traveled the Midwest with her husband, Jeremy – now a technician for South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks – and their Brittany, Lia, chasing her passion for upland hunting. “I hope to use my personal chapter experiences to assist volunteers in delivering quality habitat projects, hunting opportunities, and outreach at the highest levels in South Dakota,” added Yost.

She officially started as the South Dakota Regional Representative on July 9th and will work from her new home in Bowdle. For more information about Pheasants Forever in South Dakota, contact Erica Yost at EYost@Pheasantsforever.org or (605) 281-9682.
