Outdoor Scholars Program releases third episode of Outdoor Scholars TV

The President’s Outdoor Scholars Program at the University of Montevallo has started sharing its special hunting and fishing trips with the rest of the world via its new YouTube series, "Outdoor Scholars TV."

The third episode, released on July 15, follows the Outdoor Scholars as they head back to Louisiana for a duck and deer hunt with Kyle Barefield from All Things Hunting.

According to William Crawford, director of the Outdoor Scholars Program, this episode highlights several students, JT Russell and Austin Fredrick as they go on their first duck hunt and Garret Deavers takes his first buck with a bow while self-filming. Grant Deavers has a special hunt as well as he harvested his first wild hog with a CVA muzzleloader he won for being named Outdoor Scholar of the Year in 2017.

These four Outdoor Scholars students, had a blast in camp and got to learn from Kyle Barefield what it is like to film and produce his own hunting show.

In addition to the Louisiana duck and deer hunt, students from the program visited Davis Whitetails to learn about deer farming.

A new episode will be published to the Outdoor Scholars YouTube channel every Sunday through Sept. 2.
