St. Paul, Minn. – Good upland habitat is also good bird dog habitat! That’s the motivation behind Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever’s 2018 Bird Dogs for Habitat Campaign, which challenges upland hunters to cast a vote and make a tax-deductible donation on behalf of their favorite sporting dog breed. All contributions support the organization’s wildlife conservation mission and the creation of places where bird dogs love to hunt.
Through online payments, Pheasants Forever & Quail Forever will accept pledges in support of 49 different bird dog breeds; each $1 donated is equal to one vote. In other words, a $35 donation is equal to 35 votes for a particular breed of sporting dog. Thanks to the generous support of our 2018 campaign sponsors – Purina Pro Plan, Irish Setter, Merck Animal Health and Ruff Tough Kennels – every donation made throughout the month of April will be matched at 4:1.
“Bird dogs have helped instill in hunters a deeper appreciation for upland habitat and conservation efforts than perhaps any teacher could,” said Anthony Hauck, Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s director of public relations. “Once a bird dog enthusiast, we can’t imagine a life without them. But it’s a lifestyle largely dependent on upland habitat and the pheasants and quail it provides. Thankfully, this group of supporters continues to make Bird Dogs for Habitat one of Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever’s most fun and inspirational fundraising efforts of the year.”
