Industry Leaders Headline National r3 Symposium Plenary Session

(Washington, D.C.)  – This week, the Council to Advance Hunting and the Shooting Sports is excited to announce the invited speakers for the plenary session and proposed speakers for the industry roundtable of the first-ever National R3 Symposium.

The R3 Community has extended an invitation to speak during the plenary session to two of the most prominent figures in the conservation community.

Johnny (John L) Morris, founder and CEO of Bass Pro Shops, got his start in 1972 by selling fishing tackle out of the back of his father’s store. Since then, Johnny has earned a reputation as one of the most visionary and influential retailers of the last 50 years. Today he is known as a retail and travel destination pioneer. A lifelong sportsman with a passion for hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation, Morris is one of the country’s foremost leaders working to ensure natural habitats, wildlife and the outdoors remain healthy for future generations to protect and enjoy

Richard Childress currently serves as Chairman and CEO of Richard Childress Racing, a world-class high performance auto racing team based in Welcome, North Carolina. He currently serves as the First Vice-President and as one of the Board of Directors for the National Rifle Association (NRA). The dedicated conservationist is a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and is one of the 100 members of the very first conservation group established in the U.S. – the Boone and Crockett Club. He was also the Chairman for the 2017 National Hunting and Fishing Day.

The plenary session will convey the importance of R3 and offer expert opinions on how the collective community can work together to ensure hunting, angling, boating and target shooting have a strong future.

The plenary will conclude with a round table of high-ranking industry leaders that span the entire spectrum of the hunting, fishing, recreational shooting and boating industries to discuss and answer questions about R3.

“We are thrilled with how the plenary session is coming together” said John Frampton, President/CEO of the Council to Advance Hunting and the Shooting Sports. “The invited and proposed speakers offer decades worth of combined experience within the hunting, shooting, fishing, boating and conservation communities. Their insights will help drive innovation and inspire the R3 Community.”
