ITC Awards Trophy Ridge General Exclusion Order for Full-Capture Arrow Rests

EVANSVILLE, IN – Trophy Ridge, maker of the world’s most-popular arrow rest known as the Whisker Biscuit, announced today the issuance of a General Exclusion Order (“GEO”) by the U.S. International Trade Commission (“ITC”) in Investigation No. 337-TA-1117. The GEO prohibits entry into the U.S. of full-capture arrow rests and components that infringe upon one or more of claims 1, 2, and 32 of U.S. Patent No. 6,978,775.

Trophy Ridge filed the complaint that led to the investigation on June 11, 2018 against numerous respondents including manufacturers, importers, and distributors of full-capture arrow rests and components alleging infringement of its ‘775 patent. All respondents in the investigation have been found in default.

“It’s imperative for us at Trophy Ridge to protect the Whisker Biscuit patent and intellectual property against unfair foreign trade,” says Dave Parker, Archery General Manager. "The final determination from the ITC will help protect the integrity of the Whisker Biscuit and eliminate the rampant counterfeiting that’s been taking place through internet sales on websites such as Amazon.com, eBay.com, and Alibaba.com.”

In a time of digital marketplaces growing substantially worldwide, protection of intellectual property and combating infringement by foreign entities is critical. Trophy Ridge owns over 135 patents and remains committed to defending its intellectual property while continuing to produce high-quality archery accessories.
