Monster Meal Brand Manager Godfrey Announces Retirement

LaVergne, TN —  In anticipation of current Brand Manager Jim Godfrey’s retirement in August, Tennessee Farmers Cooperative (TFC) has announced the hiring of two key management employees to fuel the continued expansion of Monster Meal attractants and nutritional supplements.

To fill the newly created National Sales Manager position for Monster Meal, TFC has secured Brian Smith of Granger, Indiana to oversee the growth of Monster Meal-branded products. Smith’s 24-year tenure in the outdoor industry includes a 16-year career in marketing and media management as the owner of Raghorn, Inc. and most recently an eight-year oversight of sales and marketing at Lightfield Ammunition.

“I am very happy about my new position as National Sales Manager with Monster Meal.” Smith said.  “This is a very exciting time and I look forward to building upon the solid foundation which has been established for Monster Meal.” Smith continued, “I am confident our team will move Monster Meal into the top position as a premium line of animal nutrition across North America.”

In addition, the duties of Monster Meal Alternate Brand Manager will be assumed by Blake Davis, formerly of Xpedition Archery.  Davis’ background as a sales manager and independent consultant in the outdoor sector combined with his agricultural experience will be leveraged to provide oversight of the Monster Meal brand and the contract sales and production for partnered brands of TFC.

“The opportunity to utilize TFC’s nearly 75 years of experience with animal nutrition and manufacturing and apply it to wildlife applications is unprecedented,” said Davis. “Brian Smith and I are inheriting a phenomenal mix of products, brands and business practices. By adding Brian as a dedicated sales manager, we will solidify the Monster Meal brand as the premier provider of wildlife animal nutritional supplements and attractants on a greatly expanded scale. Additionally, I look forward to continuing TFC’s stellar reputation as the preeminent partner in delivering contract services to our alternate brand customers.” Joe Huffine, operations manager for TFC’s Feed and Animal Health division, says, “TFC has been very happy with the foundation that Jim Godfrey built for our wildlife business, both with our Monster Meal brand and private label business. We have nutritionists on staff, members of CRF Research with access to cutting edge technology, three state-of-the-art facilities and the support infrastructure to not only make premium products but also satisfy any customer’s needs. As our business in this arena has grown, we conducted a thorough search and couldn’t be happier with the addition of Blake and Brian. We are excited about the level of experience and expertise they bring from their prior jobs and their ability to take full advantage of TFC’s resources to successfully grow the business.” TFC, a regional farm supply and service organization, is owned by 53 member Co-ops across Tennessee. These Co-ops are owned by their farmer members and governed by a local board of directors.  Together, the Co-op system serves more than 70,000 farmer owners and some 500,000 non-member customers.
