Scholastic 3-D Archery (S3DA) Names Chad Hansen As Arizona State Coordinator

Williamsburg, KY – S3DA has continued its goal of expanding into the Western United States. S3DA student participation alone has tripled during the 2016-2017 period. In an effort to continue the growth of the youth archery program nationwide, Scholastic 3-D Archery has named Chad Hansen as the new S3DA Arizona State Coordinator. As the State Coordinator, Chad will oversee all aspects of the S3DA program in Arizona, including tournaments, trainings, and division of the state into regions, allowing S3DA participants multiple monthly competitive opportunities at venues as close as possible to their home location. Chad will also recruit and hire Regional Coordinators to oversee and manage these individual regions.

“My love for archery started at the age of nine,” says Chad Hansen, new Arizona State Coordinator for Scholastic 3-D Archery. “Like most little boys, watching my dad with his PSE bow made me love the sport. Fast forward down the road thirty years and here we are. I still love archery and I want to pass that on to as many young people as I can. If you cannot find my family and I on a 3-D course or a mountain top somewhere, we are helping someone better their knowledge or skill of archery in our backyard. Archery is my family’s way of life. By the way, the PSE bow that I watched my dad shoot all those years ago, I still have it. I have many more bows that have been added to my collection as well.”

Chad lives in Arizona with his wife and two children. He believes everyone deserves to have an opportunity to learn the sport of archery regardless of their disabilities, socio-economic status or physical ability. He challenges himself to be the best that he can be in the sport of archery. He strongly believes that archery is for all ages and interests. Chad is a shooter for Robinson Archery, PSE Archery, Brite Strings and Archerybum.

Started in December 2012 by the Scholastic Archery Association, S3DA has grown exponentially as a next step program to follow introductory programs offered as part of 4-H or the National Archery in Schools Program.  S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3-D shooting and bowhunting.  The program currently operates across the United States with hundreds of certified coaches serving

thousands of young archers, grades 3–12.
