Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Sponsors First-Ever National R3 Symposium

(Washington, D.C.) – The Council to Advance Hunting and the Shooting Sports is pleased to announce that the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation has signed on as a Gold Sponsor for the first-ever National R3 Symposium planned for May 21-23, 2018 in Lincoln, Nebraska.

“We commend the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation for their steadfast commitment to not only the future of elk and their habitat, but also our hunting heritage.” said John Frampton, President/CEO of the Council. “Their involvement in the recruitment, retention and reactivation (R3) community has helped to ensure hunters will continue to chase bugling elk for years to come, and we are excited they will be a big player in the first-ever National R3 Symposium.”

“We are honored to support the National R3 Symposium and are committed to doing all we can to sustain this ongoing effort,” said Blake Henning, RMEF Chief Conservation Officer. “Recruiting, retaining and reactivating hunters is core to our conservation mission of ensuring the future of elk, other wildlife, their habitat and our hunting heritage.”

The Symposium will include a plenary session with well-known and influential speakers from various outdoor industries, fish and wildlife agencies, non-government organizations, and outdoor media. The agenda will showcase reflections of recent advancements in R3 from various organizations spanning the conservation community, as well as presentations and ideas on how groups can elevate their R3 impacts through strategic partnerships.

“We are fortunate to have partners like the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation” saidCyrus Baird, Programs Director for the Council. “Their commitment to the North American Model and embracing organizations like the Council make them a valuable ally in conveying the contributions sportsmen and women make towards conservation in this country everyday.”
