Arizona Mule Deer Organization Set To Auction Commissioners’ Elk Tag

Phoenix, AZ – Excitement is building for Region 6 of the Arizona Mule Deer Organization who will hold their fundraising banquet on February 9th, 2019 at the Pointe Tapatio in Phoenix.

This banquet will be significant in that the AMD will be auctioning off a coveted Arizona Game & Fish Commissioners’ elk tag. The Arizona Game and Fish Commission awards Special Big Game License Tags, sometimes called Commissioners’ tags, to selected 501(c)(3) wildlife conservation organizations to raise funds for wildlife. Commissioners’ tags are good for any unit and the tagholder is able to hunt what is essentially a 365-day season.

Most savvy elk hunters know that Arizona produces some of the largest Trophy Elk in the country, so this tag will see lots of interest. Field Director Terry Herndon stated “We expect to see this tag go for $200,000 or more at the banquet. Hunters are excited about 2019 due to the amount of rain we received in the fall, and the existing snow pack in the high country. This bodes well for antler growth on our bulls”. All revenues generated are returned to the Arizona Game and Fish Department to be directly used to benefit those species through wildlife and habitat management in coordination with the Arizona Habitat Partnership Committee. Administrative and marketing costs must be covered by the wildlife conservation organization.

AMD has a few Corporate tables left and a limited number of single seats as well. In addition to the tag auction, AMD has a significant number of guided hunts and premium rifles to auction. There will be bucket raffles and other ways to win guns, optics, camping equipment, jewelry and more. To buy tickets to the banquet, visit Region 6 Banquet Tickets.
