Pope & Young Recognizes Missouri CO

Chatfield, MN - The Pope and Young Club presented the Lee Gladfelter Memorial Award for exceptional wildlife professional to Kevin Eulinger, a Conservation Officer from the State of Missouri.

The award was presented to Kevin this past April at the Club's Biennial Convention in St. Louis, Missouri.

The LEE GLADFELTER MEMORIAL AWARD is named after Lee Gladfelter, a prominent wildlife biologist with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and a dedicated bowhunter. Lee worked tirelessly to better the image of bowhunting across North America until his life was tragically taken in an automobile accident. This award recognizes a wildlife professional who, through their efforts, has made a significant contribution to bowhunting and wildlife conservation.

"Kevin has led the state in resource citations and youth programs for many of his 10 years," says Merritt Compton, Conservation Chairman for the Pope and Young Club. "Throughout his career he has been involved in several high profile poaching cases that resulted in the apprehension of major wildlife violators, not only in Missouri, but also neighboring Illinois. Kevin is a role model for both the younger and older Conservation Officers within the state, a true leader that leads by example. He routinely steps-up and takes on leadership roles as a field agent to better serve his fellow officers, constituents and the Department. Kevin also plays a vital role as a shooting team leader for the Chronic Wasting Disease team. Agent Eulinger is a dedicated professional who exemplifies the very best attributes of all areas of responsibility as a Conservation agent. His knowledge, work ethic and dedication to the profession are unsurpassed. His accomplishments exemplify the very essence of dedication and commitment to wildlife conservation. The Pope and Young Club is proud to honor Missouri Conservation Officer, Kevin Eulinger with this prestigious award."

"I want to thank the committee and the Pope and Young Club for selecting me to receive the Lee Gladfelter Memorial Award," said Kevin Eulinger. "I am truly humbled and honored to receive an award of this magnitude. I am proud of the fact that the Pope and Young Club chose to recognize a Conservation Officer. Resource law enforcement officers from all over the world are doing what I am doing. We work everyday to help educate our youth about conservation and the outdoors. We protect and conserve our fish, forest and wildlife resources. So, on behalf of every resource law enforcement officer, I greatly appreciate this award and the efforts the Pope and Young Club has taken to promote conservation."

The Pope and Young Club is a non-profit North American conservation and bowhunting organization dedicated to the promotion and protection of bowhunting by striving to increase awareness and appreciation of bowhunting foundations, principles and values. The Pope and Young Club is focused on Fair Chase hunting ethics that support the ethical pursuit of free ranging, wild game animals without unfair advantage while promoting the conservation of both habitat and wildlife. The Club also maintains the universally recognized repository of records and statistics on North American big game animals harvested with a bow and arrow.
