Kennesaw, Ga. — Game & Fish is inviting readers and online viewers to vote for their favorite new hunting products in the magazine's sixth annual Readers' Choice Awards.

More than 4,000 voters are expected to participate.
"This in an extremely popular editorial project because we ask the readers to pick their favorite gear," said Associate Publisher and Gear Editor John Geiger. "We get pointed insight into the rifles, shotguns, ammo and a lot of other gear that our hardcore-hunting readers use every day."
Game & Fish readers are hardcore hunters for sure. On average, those who voted last year said they hunted 39 days in the previous 12 months. Half said they hunted for more than 20 days. Most consider themselves either advanced or expert, and only one in 25 called himself or herself a beginner.
"What a great source of information on what works well in the field and what might not live up to expectations," said Geiger. "Manufacturers have told us that winning an award from our readers is truly meaningful."
Magazine subscribers, e-newsletter recipients and web visitors will vote in 17 gear categories, from rifles and ammo to ATVs and optics. One randomly chosen voter will win $500.
Top vote-getters last year included Remington's Commemorative Model 700, Ruger's American Rimfire and Gamo's Magnum Airgun. They dominated their categories and each won by more than 37 percentage points.
The magazine will report the results online, in its July-August 2017 issues and throughout the year in its Gear Section. Winners also will be recognized in press releases, in online stories and in a trophy presentation at the 2018 SHOT Show in Las Vegas.
