Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever Hire Marissa Jensen to Promote Nebraska Habitat Partnerships and Youth Initiatives

Omaha, Neb. Pheasants Forever and Quail Forever announce and welcome Marissa Jensen as the organization’s Nebraska Outreach and Communications Coordinator. The position is a partnership between Pheasants Forever, Inc., Quail Forever and the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission and is designed to help connect the dots between upland habitat and wildlife conservation. This position also includes duties related to the recruitment, retention and reactivation of hunters in supporting the national R3 effort.

An Omaha, Nebraska native, Jensen comes to “The Habitat Organization” with experience working with nonprofits. She’s the founder of the Nebraska Chapter of the Mayfly Project, designed to mentor at-risk youth through outdoor activities and fly fishing. She has also been a regular contributor to many different outdoor publications including Project Upland and Trail Tales. Jensen worked previously in Aquatic Education with Nebraska Game and Park’s Trout in the Classroom project and has additional experience developing curriculum and “how-to” videos to help with various education projects. A licensed veterinarian technician by trade and a biology major, she is an avid outdoorswoman.

“Marissa’s position will be instrumental in telling the story of Pheasants Forever and Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s partnership, habitat and conservation efforts. She will also coordinate on-the-ground efforts of youth and adult hunting activities and other R3 activities with our chapter leaders,” says Kelsi Wehrman, the Nebraska State Coordinator. “She has hit the ground running and has already proved to be a major asset to our partnerships.”
