Memphis, Michigan - Prime Archery, a leading manufacturer of the most technologically advanced and highest-quality bows available, is pleased to report that Prime Archery Pro Staff member Benton Christensen won the 2017 NFAA Indoor Nationals in the Freestyle Professional Senior Male Class.
Christensen, who is from Preston, Idaho did not just win the event, being held in Cincinnati, Ohio on Mach 18th and 19th, he won the event outright thanks to a strong showing on Saturday with only one dropped X. Benton followed that up again on Sunday, again only missing one X. Christensen's Championship is on the heels of him finishing second at the Lancaster Classic and Vegas Shoot.
"My finish in Vegas was a good motivator for me for at this weekend's event," stated Christensen. "The Prime has been doing its job, it is just up to me to do mine, I haven't fared to well in the past shoot offs for 1st place, so it was great to win it outright this weekend."
This was the 37th year for this NFAA Tournament. It is a 5-spot event, shot at 20 yard distances, with 60 arrows being shot each day and the possible high score of the weekend being a 600 with 120X. Benton used his Prime STX 39 V2 to score a 600 with 118X. This weekend's event broke the attendance record set in 2016 with over 2,000 archers competing in various classes, with Benton besting 51 archers in his Freestyle Professional Senior Male Class.
"It was great to personally see Benton break down that barrier before closing the book on his 2017 Indoor season. We all want to win, but with his other earlier podium finishes in the beginning of the year, it was easy to see Benton had an extra level of motivation at this event.
