ABOUT THE FOUNDATION:

The Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Foundation (LWFF) is a Public Non-Profit Corporation organized exclusively for charitable, scientific, and educational purposes, incorporated in Louisiana and recognized with Section 501(c) (3) status by the IRS. Its Board of Directors manages the assets of the foundation and supervises the daily management of the LWFF by its Executive Director and Assistant Executive Director.

The LWFF supports the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) and the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission (LWFC) by providing financial assistance for projects and programs carried out under a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with the LDWF. The Executive Director and Assistant Executive Director report to the Foundation's Board and are responsible for implementing and carrying out the policies of the LWFF.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Louisiana Wildlife & Fisheries Foundation seeks a dynamic Assistant Executive Director to help build the LWFF's goals and expand its contributions to conservation and restoration in Louisiana.

The primary responsibility of the Assistant Executive Director is the general oversight of the operations of the LWFF. The Executive Director and Assistant Executive Director report to the Board and are responsible for implementing and carrying out the policies of the LWFF.

The successful candidate will have the passion and leadership skills necessary to articulate, develop, and implement LWFF's goals and strategies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Fundraising and directing a major gifts program
• Public speaking
• Grant management
• Contract review and management
• Project and program management
• Assist in budget preparation and management
• Monitoring properties subject to Conservation Servitude
• Assist with event planning and hosting
• Prepare to take over as Executive Director within one year

REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree with marketing experience
• An avid interest in outdoor activities and a connection with conservation
• Interaction with LDWF and other conservation associations
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Self-motivated and personable
• Leadership qualities
• The ability to travel state-wide on a regular basis
• Grant-writing experience preferred
• Fundraising experience for non-profits
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, social media and event software
