NFAA to Partner With S3DA Program

Louisville, KY - Scholastic 3-D Archery will be partnering with NFAA to help spread the S3DA program into the western United States. S3DA will host a Western U.S. Indoor National Championship in conjunction with both the NFAA Vegas shoot and the Western U.S. 3-D National Tournament. The tournament site is yet to be determined.

"NFAA and S3DA's partnership is a step towards advancing archery's future," said Bruce Cull, President of NFAA. "The NFAA has always been committed to strong youth divisions, as evidenced by our scholarship program. It is clear to me that S3DA shares the same vision as we do of advancing competitive youth archery. I am proud to partner with S3DA and look forward to working with them to grow our sport."

This partnership will help to bridge the gap between S3DA students and the NFAA program. Our Indoor format is a modified version of the NFAA 5 spot format with a 30 arrow round instead of a 60 arrow round at the same distance as NFAA.

NFAA has thousands of clubs and members across the United States that will now have the opportunity to embrace the S3DA program and increase the opportunities for the youth in their existing clubs. This will help to extend their skills into Scholastic 3-D Archery. This partnership will also provide an avenue for S3DA to host national events in the western United States.

Started in December 2012 by the Scholastic Archery Association, S3DA has grown exponentially as a next step program to follow introductory programs offered as part of 4-H or the National Archery in Schools Program. S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3-D shooting and bowhunting. The program currently operates across the United States with hundreds of certified coaches serving thousands of young archers, grades 3–12.
