First Bowhunters Rendezvous a Hit With Vendors, Attendees

Chatfield, MN - The Pope and Young Club hosted its first ever Bowhunters Rendezvous at the MacKenzie Environmental Center near Poynette, Wis.. this past weekend. Hundreds of participants and dozens of vendors took part in the three day event, which included realistic 3-D target ranges, set up on three loops of well-groomed trails in the forested area of the facility. There were also a number of novelty shoots, including pop-up 3-D, aerial disk and archery tag, just to name a few.

"The MacKenzie Center was the ideal facility for an event of this size. Both the Pope and Young and MacKenzie staff worked diligently to ensure that the event was a success," said

Jim Willems, President of The Pope and Young Club. "A huge thank you to all who participated in making this such a huge hit."
"The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources appreciates the Pope and Young Club's selection of our beautiful MacKenzie Center as the venue for their first-ever Rendezvous," says JD Smith
, Director of the MacKenzie Center. "The MacKenzie Center staff, Friends of MacKenzie, and area Chamber of Commerce took pride in hosting this awesome event. We were excited and prepared for months leading up to what turned out to be a memorable, fun, and safe event."

The Saturday live auction, daily silent auctions, daily door prizes, novelty shoot gift bags, Sunday live auction and the bucket raffles were more reasons for excitement during the weekend where thousands of dollars in prizes were awarded to shooters and attendees. Local resident Kris Attoe and her family won big on the weekend long bucket raffle. "We won a Gearhead bow for me, a Bear bow for my son Kyle, and a Mathews bow for my husband," said Kris. The assortment and quality of the raffle prizes were very impressive. Many of the manufacturers and P&Y representatives were on hand to answer questions and make sure we were taken care of. I was impressed with the organization and professionalism we witnessed at the Bowhunters Rendezvous."

"We were very happy to have attended the first P&Y Bowhunters Rendezvous event. The venue was spectacular and it was great to see so many people come out and support such an important organization," stated Scott Bakken, Director of Sales & Marketing for HHA. "Whether you were an exhibitor, a traditional archer or a compound shooter, it was a time where everyone could be together and support an organization that has done so much for bowhunting. It is events and organizations like this that are vital for protecting and carrying on the heritage of archery. HHA proudly supports the Pope and Young Club and we will definitely be attending the next Bowhunters Rendezvous."
