Fort Boonsboro Hosts S3DA Kentucky Regional

Louisville, KY - The Scholastic 3-D Archery program held their Kentucky Regional shoot on May, 14th at Fort Boonsboro in Richmond Kentucky. The event was hosted by In-Range

Archery with 158 shooters in attendance.

"This program has been truly amazing for our shop," says Ronnie Aldridge, owner of

In-Range Archery. "We have students from all 19 schools in Madison County shooting for our In-Range S3DA Club. This has enabled us to bring our community together for a common program instead of the normal rivalry they have in other sports. Our archery sales are exploding with purchases from S3DA members. After a few months these students are coming back to upgrade bows, arrows and releases. In addition to the equipment needs of the S3DA students, the parents and grandparents are getting involved. This is a sport that the entire extended family can do

together and here in Kentucky, they are."

"This was an amazing event for our region," adds Randy Groce, Scholastic 3-D Archery Regional director. "We had 158 participants in this years Regional shoot, that is three times larger than our event last year. The Fort Boonsboro State Park was perfect for our venue. The park director, Rob Minerich was amazing to work with. S3DA's partnership with Kentucky's State Park's has allowed our students a chance to experience these beautiful parks and to see what our great state has to

offer."

Started in December 2012 by the Scholastic Archery Association, S3DA has grown exponentially as a next step program to follow introductory programs offered as part of 4-H or the National Archery in Schools Program. S3DA addresses the need for a program to bridge beginning target archery experience and more advanced activities such as 3-D shooting and bowhunting. The program currently operates across the United States with hundreds of certified coaches serving
thousands of young archers, grades 3–12.
