Archery lessons and fun shoot at Patoka Lake, May 14

A day of archery at Patoka Lake on May 14 will start with lessons and end with friendly competition.

The event, an introduction to the sport, is open to ages 8 and older. All equipment will be provided. Participation is limited to 20 people, and advance registration is required.

The lake's naturalist and other certified archery instructors will offer instruction for beginner and intermediate archers at the property's archery range from 9 a.m. to noon. Participants can then use their new skills in friendly competition at 1 p.m. Prizes will be awarded.

An entrance fee of $7 per in-state vehicle and $9 per out-of-state vehicle is required for Newton-Stewart State Recreation Area at Patoka Lake.
