Celebration of female outdoor enthusiasts to run 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; entire families welcome

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Sept. 30, 2015) – Cabela's announced today plans to celebrate the company's biannual Ladies' Day Out event, Saturday, Oct. 10. A celebration of the growing number of women enjoying the outdoors, the event will feature giveaways, guest appearances, sales, seminars, workshops and more.

According to the Outdoor Foundation's 2014 Outdoor Participation Report, of the 142.6 million U.S. participants in outdoor activities, 46 percent – approximately 65.6 million – are female. Additionally, female children and teenagers recorded the highest participation rates in outdoor activity since 2006.

Whether it's hunting, fishing, hiking, camping or other outdoor adventures, Cabela's encourages women and entire families to embrace their passion for the outdoors. Cabela's Ladies' Day Out will provide women and their families an opportunity to enhance their knowledge of outdoor activities while also meeting and sharing experiences with other outdoor enthusiasts.

Cabela's staff and local partners will offer educational workshops and insight on outdoor products and activities free of charge. Additionally, the first 100 women to check in at a participating Cabela's store on Saturday, Oct. 10, will receive a free gift and all who participate in the event will qualify for a discount on in-store purchases.

Additionally, attendees will have an opportunity to meet Dan Armitage, host of Buckeye Sportsman.
