Sportsman Channel's 'Sheep Shape' Finds Strength through Adversity

NEW BERLIN, WI (July 6, 2015) – This week, Sportsman Channel's http://www.thesportsmanchannel.com/shows/sheep-shape/">Sheep Shape brings Patrick Scrogin closer than ever to a mature ram he has been diligently scouting in the Northwest Territories and Rick Carone confronts struggles of his own on a sheep hunt in the Yukon. Tune in to Sheep Shape Thursday, July 9 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT exclusively on Sportsman Channel.

Scrogin has been scouting the Northwest Territories, hoping to get a shot at a mature ram. He spots a worthy harvest, but the noise of his prosthetic leg on shale rock underfoot makes it difficult for Scrogin to silently move in and make a shot downrange. When he has the opportunity to set up his gun to take aim, the adrenaline and intensity of the hunt could leave Scrogin empty-handed if he is unable to calm his nerves.

Meanwhile, Carone, battling stage IV pancreatic cancer, is on the hunt for sheep in the Yukon, but the high-altitude hiking is taking a toll on the hunter's lungs. It has been just over a week and a half since his last chemotherapy treatment, making it difficult to continue on, but he knows the only way to succeed is to push his own boundaries.

"It's mind over matter," explained Carone. "And when your guide tells you that there's a shooter just at the top of a ridge, you dig deep and find a way to get up there."
