Brandon Archer Named Co-Host of Tex Mex Outdoors

Jim Miller, is very proud to announce that Brandon Archer has joined Tex Mex Outdoors as Co-Host. Brandon Archer first picked up a bow and arrow at the age of eight and took his first whitetail that same year. Brandon's passion for bow hunting has carried over ever since. Brandon is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and began fishing and hunting at a very young age, while running around his family's land in Georgia. Sports also played a large part in his life, and he initially attended college on a baseball scholarship. He knew that working in the outdoor industry was what he wanted to pursue, and he would leave baseball practice regularly to head straight to the deer stand. However, his freshman year there was an event that turned the world upside down and had a significant impact on his outlook on life.

As he was walking back from class on that September 11th day of 2001 he realized there was something he had to do for this great nation and that was to serve in the Military. His brother was an Infantry Officer in the US Army, and his unit was one of the first called into Iraq and he deployed immediately in response to September 11th. Brandon knew that he had a sense of commitment to this nation and so he put his other ambitions on hold and pursued a career in the Army. He received his commission through the Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) as a Medical Service Corps Officer and was selected to become an Aeromedical Evacuation Pilot. His first duty assignment was with the 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Calvary Division, Fort Hood, TX, where he deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Following that CPT Archer was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division, C CO. 7-101ST GSAB, Fort Campbell, KY where he deployed again, this time in support of Operation Enduring Freedom to Afghanistan. Brandon received the Air Medal with Valor, the Bronze Star and the Combat Medical Badge for his combat actions overseas. Brandon graduated from Columbus State University earning a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, and attained a Master's Degree in Human Environmental Science from the University of Alabama.

Through his military career Brandon still managed to find time to get into the woods. While stationed in Texas he bought a ranch in Lampasas Texas, started managing it, and the diligence paid off. In between deployments he has taken over 20 whitetails that scored over 150 inches with his bow to include a 197 1/8'' double drop tine bruiser. Brandon has also taken numerous exotics across the state of Texas with his bow and he just recently took his first pope and young Elk. He also had the pleasure of meeting his mentor Jim Miller while being in the great state of Texas, and that's how the collaboration took off. Jim is a huge supporter of our Military, and took Brandon under his wing, asking him to be the Co-Host of TEX-MEX OUTDOORS TV SHOW this fall on Hunt TV.
