Pilla glasses have been widely used in shooting sports for some time. Eight of the nine men's shotgun medallists at London 2012 wore the company's visual equipment.

Over the past two years, more and more elite archers have begun using the shades, too.

Top USA compound woman and Pilla pro-staff member Erika Jones shot a new indoor qualification world record at the http://www.worldarchery.org/EVENTS/World-Championships/2014/Indoor-Nimes-2014">Nimes 2014 World Archery Indoor Championships. She set the new world-best mark at 595.

That was at the start of this year. At the end, Jones found herself in the http://www.worldarchery.org/EVENTS/World-Cup/2014/Lausanne">Lausanne 2014 Archery World Cup Final gold medal match against Colombia's Sara Lopez. Lopez won and Erika took silver, while Jones's States teammate Bridger Deaton beat Frenchman PJ DeLouche to the compound men's title.

All four wore Pilla glasses in 2014.

Athletes wearing Pilla technical eyewear won a grand total of 44 medals - both recurve and compound - over the last Archery World Cup season.

The equipment they were wearing was developed in association with top international archers Braden Gellenthien and Martin Damsbo.

"As all archers know, perfect clarity and precise optics are critical," said USA compound athlete Gellenthien, who claimed gold at the first two 2014/15 Indoor Archery World Cup stages in Marrakesh and Bangkok. "Accuracy begins with the ability to perceive the target consistently."

Dane Damsbo was Archery World Cup Champion at Paris 2013.

"Pilla equipment has received a fantastic reaction from archers of all levels," said World Archery Secretary General Tom Dielen. "More and more athletes are using the eyewear on the international stage."

"Pilla identified a gap in the market, researched and developed its products with athletes - and to the benefit of the sport. It is the kind of innovative attitude that World Archery wants to support."

"We're proud to have Pilla on board as a new official equipment supplier and partner."
