Team USA Ends Outdoor Archery Season With 3 Silvers

MERIDA, Mexico - The Kin Balam Invitational tournament in Mexico saw four strong Team USA athletes enter competition: compounders Lexi Keller (Omro, Wisconsin) and Shawnn Vincent (Anacortes, Washington) and recurvers Mackenzie Brown and Collin Klimitchek (both of Chula Vista, California).

When the dust settled on a competition that saw some of the world's best competing - including Mexico's Juan Rene Serrano and Russia's Albina Loginova - Team USA had finished with three hard-fought silver medals.

Klimitchek clinched the individual recurve men's silver medal after a tough gold medal match with Serrano, who took the showdown in a one arrow shoot-off.

On the compound side, the compound mixed team of Keller and Vincent faced off with Slovenia for the gold medal, coming away with the silver. The compound men's individual event was also a USA-Slovenia meeting, from which Vincent scored a second silver medal.

USA was represented by Brown, an Olympic hopeful, in the recurve women's category. Brown, despite a strong qualification score, was eliminated in a close quarterfinal match. Keller's own strong individual bid also stopped at the quarterfinals.
