Naperville, IL - The Board of Directors of the National Association of Sporting Goods Wholesalers (NASGW) recently announced that Maurice (Moe) Desmarais announced his retirement and will be stepping down as President effective December 31, 2014.

"We feel fortunate for Moe's leadership of NASGW for so many years through dynamic industry change and evolution," said Pete Brownell, Search Committee Chair, on behalf of the association's board. "He has been instrumental in the successful growth of our organization, including forging many industry relationships and establishing NASGW as the leader in wholesale distribution. Moe's vision, energy and attention to detail have made a significant impact on NASGW, its member firms and the industry."
"With a dedicated leadership and a strong, experienced and talented management team in place, I leave NASGW in very capable hands," said Moe. "It has been the most rewarding experience of my 35 years in managing trade associations and professional societies. I am extremely proud of what we have accomplished together."
