HARRISBURG, Pa. (Oct. 10, 2014) - The recent bowfishing catch of an 11-foot, 809.5-pound mako shark made headlines around the world, as it not only broke the world bowfishing record but also caused uproar in the "anti" circles. On this edition of Petersen's BOWHUNTING Radio, presented by Easton, Editor Christian Berg talks to Jeff Thomason, host of Predator Pursuit TV, about the hunt and how he hauled 800 pounds of fish to the shore and scale.

Thomason takes Berg through his past bowfishing expeditions for mako sharks to this special day in August 2014. He explains equipment used, skills needed and tactics employed to reel in more than 800 pounds of fish safely and efficiently. Thomason also tells of how 400 pounds of fresh shark meat was donated to local homeless shelters and what he plans to do honor this "catch of a lifetime."

A feature article with behind-the-scenes photos from the event will be published in BOWHUNTING's January/February issue, on newsstands Dec. 2. The hunt will also be aired this January on a full episode of Thomason's Predator Pursuit TV show on Sportsman Channel.
