Two New IBO Classes for 2015

During its recent biannual meeting, the IBO Board of Directors voted unanimously to introduce two new classes for the 2015 tournament season. After reviewing petitions submitted by shooters and assessing the need for the requested classes, the board voted to add a Pro Hunter Class (PHC) and a Female Senior Hunter Class (FSHC).

Pro Hunter Class (PHC) will be the top-level class for archers that are required to use hunter class equipment.

"This gives us a natural progression from the entry level Hunter Class (HC) to the mid-level Advanced Hunter (AHC) to the elite competitors who will make up the Pro Hunter Class (PHC)," said Bryan J. Marcum, IBO President. PHC is considered a Pro division with a $145 entry fee and an approximate maximum distance of 45 yards (green stake). PHC shooters will be required to shoot in peer groups, similar to the format used for peers at the third leg of the National Championship Triple Crown.

Female Senior Hunter Class (FSHC) is a class for females, 50 years and older, who want to compete using hunter class equipment. FSHC shooters will use the same equipment as Female Hunter Class (FHC) and will share the same 30-yard (orange) stake.

Details for these new classes, along with other changes from the fall meeting, will appear in the 2015 IBO rule book due out later this year.
