Missouri Outdoor Communicators Seek ED

Chartered in 1994, the Missouri Outdoor Communicators' mission is to advance knowledge of natural resources and related recreational pursuits, to improve MOC members' communications skills, to promote outdoor communications, to encourage appropriate use and conservation of natural resources and to mentor the next generation of outdoor communicators.

The MOC Executive Director needs to be a strong communicator, have excellent organizational skills, and be able to think-outside-the-box. Salary will be discussed with qualified applicants.

Job Description and Guidelines

1. Perform all duties and responsibilities prescribed by the Board of Directors (general catchall provision).
2. Manage the day-to-day business of MOC.
3. Serve as and perform all of the duties and responsibilities of the Conference Site Chairman.
4. Prepare and distribute to each member a Membership Directory.
5. Maintain the Membership Rolls.
6. Collect and deposit all income and pay expenses legally owed by MOC.
7. Maintain an inventory of all the assets of MOC.
8. Provide consulting and assist the officers and committee chairpersons with advice, goal setting and planning.
9. Prepare meeting agendas for the Board of Directors and the general membership meeting as well as inform and remind committee chairpersons of their duty to prepare reports.
10. Provide notice of all meetings to the Board of Directors and notice to the general membership of the annual meeting of the membership.
11. The E.D. is responsible for registration at the annual conference and determines the number of meals to order and guarantee at the annual conference.
12. The E.D. coordinates with the Awards Committee and is responsible for ordering plaques and certificates for the awards to be given.
13. The E.D. is required to work actively for the recruitment of new individual and supporting members, to transmit applications to potential members, and to forward completed applications to the screening committee.
14. The E.D. is required to assist the Officers and Board of Directors in the preparation of the annual budget. In reality, the E.D. prepares the budget.

The E.D. is not an employee of MOC, but is an independent contractor. We have a written contract that spells out the details of the arrangement between the E.D. and the Association and also delineates the duties and responsibilities of each party.
