Marketing Manager, US Collegiate Archery Association

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement marketing strategy that supports the mission and vision of USCA
  • Develop funding sources by advertisements, sponsorships, and grants
  • Stays abreast of changes in the marketing environment to best serve the objectives of the organization and adjusts plans accordingly. Coordinate marketing opportunities with the Sports manager to ensure highest profitability for USCAA
  • Develop and oversee grants, making calls to potential advertisers, donors, mailing promotional/marketing packages
  • Oversee the administration of the Grants
  • Understand current and potential markets
  • Address the needs for materials for New Clubs, Growth and Sustainment of current Clubs by working with Membership Manager to ensure continuity of marketing
  • Provide the promotional, educational, and advertising materials for the organization
  • Publicize USCAA to drive education efforts through effective public relations and communications.
  • Create and distribute monthly Enewsletter, announcements, and press releases
  • Oversee efforts for magazine marketing and promotional booths
  • Provide press releases and information for dissemination to the webmaster in a timely manner
  • Be proactive in learning about the organization and understanding its needs and the day to day operation Support the day to day operations of USCAA
  • Address/answer emails within 48 hours on business days
  • public relations regarding fundraising, advertising
  • Work with the Membership Manager to ensure the recruitment of youth from the various programs is on-target and materials are available.
  • Ensure staffing and materials are available for marketing events


Desired Skills and Experience

The Marketing Manager shall primarily be responsible for the Marketing of the association for outside funding and promotion of the organization to other archery organizations and potential new members. Direct all fundraising efforts on behalf of the organization with the involvement of the Board of Directors Fundraising committee. Refer to the Board Roles and Responsibilities for information on the board responsibility for fundraising. This position requires odd hours from time to time, including weekends.

Qualifications -
  • Have knowledge of a wide range of marketing techniques and concepts
  • Experience in marketing and fundraising
  • Experience in grant writing, advertising, and/or creating sponsor partnerships
  • Think creatively
  • Be an excellent communicator
  • Be able to respond well to pressure
  • Be interested in what motivates people
  • Ability to travel
  • Budgeting/financial experience preferred
  • Degree in marketing and/or business a plus
  • Archery knowledge a plus
  • Successful grant writing a plus
