Whitetails Unlimited Awards $5,000 Grant for NASP IBO 3D Challenge

Whitetails Unlimited provided a $5,000 grant to the NASP/IBO National 3D Challenge for individual and team scholarships awarded at the 2018 Eastern National Tournament held in Louisville, Kentucky. Whitetails Unlimited has been a charter sponsor of the 3D Challenge since its inception in 2014 and has given $25,000 in scholarship money to program.

The NASP/IBO 3D Challenge was invented for the sixty-five percent of the NASP student archer population who wanted to take part in a more “realistic” experience with targets that were simulated wild beasts. These simulations include: Turkeys, Coyotes, Bears, Pronghorn Antelope, Whitetail Deer, and Sheep. There were eighteen identical ranges set up for this challenge, and each range included one of these unique replicas. Over 4,000 students took part in the 3D challenge.

“It’s really exciting to see so many students participate in 3D target shooting,” says Whitetails Unlimited Program Services Director Russ Austad. “There is no doubt their passion for archery will grow to the point they be will shooting their bows out of treestands.”
